What is Re-Volte?
Re-Volte is a simple parser built into Volte that enables each user the ability to share timers and events between each other. Re-Volte uses "workflows" that are set up by one or more players and shared to other players via a share code and password. Each workflow contains one activity (which is a regular expression), one or more filters on that activity (e.g. player equals Maokomeeb), and one or more responses (timer, event, message, callout).
Um .. what?
Ok in ACT terms, Re-Volte creates timers and triggers that can be shared with players.
Ah. Ok how from a Volte user's point-of-view?
1. Volte user's will click the Volte button to get to the configuration window. Then they go to Log Manager to add a folder that they want Volte to monitor for logs. Volte can monitor the folder and its subdirectories. What I do is monitor my C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest II\logs folder and check "Monitor subfolders". That way no matter what toon I play, Volte will read its logs.
2. Next you stay in the configuration window and go to Re-Volte Parser. From there you add a share code and password that was given to you by someone who set up Re-Volte timers and triggers.
3. That's it. You close the configuration window.
I maintain the timers for my guild. How do I set up timers in Re-Volte?
1. Go to http://beta.re-volte.com or http://www.re-volte.com and register an account.
2. Log into your account.
3. Create a Catalog. This generates a share code for you to give to Volte users. You make up your own password when you create or edit the Catalog.
4. Now click "Workflows" for that Catalog.
5. Click "Create New Workflow".
6a. For the basic timers, you can use the Predefined Workflow called EQ2 Spell Timer. Select it in the pick list at the top of the page and click Apply.
6b. For the advanced user, you can put in your own regular expression and click Compile.
7. Filters will appear which allows you to trim the fat of the timers. For EQ2 Spell Timer, you can put the timer's name in the skillType field. Make sure to check the Apply? checkbox. If you want to even put the mob's name in, you can put that in the attacker field.
8. Now click Add Timer. Enter the duration and response in the Duration and Response Expression fields respectively. Note: Advanced users can use the ${attacker} tokens to replace text with what was found in the regular expression. For instance ${attacker} AOE would say "Maokomeeb AOE".
9. Click Save. Done
