VOLTE: Client Configurations...

Download the client

Easy Mode replaces this Wiki section.  Below is Advanced Mode information.

Configurations

Channel Manager
This is where you add channels that are broadcasting from ACT parsers. Click the Add button to add a channel. Each channel has a name and password. You will normally receive the name and password from the broadcaster(s).

Channel Manager

As of version 1.1.0.0, the channel manager allows you to determine what you will receive from each channel; rather than having to add the channel name in other areas.

In-Game Presenter

This allows you to see information at fullscreen or windowed-mode as in-game overlays. (Similar to FRAPS.) Click the Link Game Folder button to add a game folder. A game folder is the location where your game is installed. For EverQuest 2, this would be something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest II". The Volte client needs to know at least one game folder in order to provide overlays.

You should also see an Enable Ingame Displays check box. Check this box when you want to enable overlays. Uncheck it when you don't.

Once enabled, you can choose which overlays you would like to see by checking/unchecking Enable Messages, Enable Events, Enable Timers, and Use Timer Graph.

  • Enable Messages: Displays ACT clipboard parses, connection messages, etc.
  • Enable Events: Volte has an ACT plugin that can do callouts such as when someone is cursed. This window shows those events.
  • Enable Timers: Displays ACT spell timers as text (e.g. Big Spell 00:30)
  • Use Timer Graph: Displays ACT spell timers in a graphic form

You may position the overlays by dragging the mockup overlays with your mouse in the box below the check boxes. This area represents your in-game screen.

In-Game Presenter

Timer Graph

The timer graph is a horizontal time vs damage vs resist graph. From left-to-right is TIME. From top-to-bottom is DAMAGE. And the color of the lines is the resist. For example in the picture above, the white bar is ahead of the green bar. The green bar appears to have given more damage (using ACT's maximum hit value). And the green bar's spell was either a poison or disease since it's green.

The timer graph will display the name of the spell when it hits and when it's in the warning/post hit areas.

A timer will be white if ACT hasn't determined what resist it requires. Once ACT does determine this, the timer will be updated with the appropriate color -- and it will determine it's maximum hit. The colors are:

GREEN: disease or poison
YELLOW: heat or cold
RED: mental or magic
SILVER: crushing, piercing, slashing
LIGHT BLUE: divine
WHITE: unknown

Desktop Presenter

This allows you to see information in windowed-mode as standard popup/notification windows rather than in-game overlays. This also adds the ability to minimize Volte to the taskbar's notification tray area.

The Use Notification Windows check box turns on the popup windows. There are three popup windows: one for clipboard/parses, one for spell timers, and one for events/callouts. Each window has a slider in the top-left to adjust the transparency. (Note: you can only adjust these when they appear.) You may also move these windows by dragging the title bar of these windows around.

Once notification windows are enabled, you can choose which windows you would like to see by checking/unchecking Enable Messages, Enable Events, and Enable Timers.

The Minimize to Tray check box will tell Volte to go to the notification tray area when you minimize Volte. The tray area is in the lower-right corner of your desktop where the clock and date are located.

The Maximum size of message window is used to determine how big the clipboard/parse window can get. Small is 200 pixels high. Medium is 400 pixels. And Large is 600 pixels.

Desktop Presenter

Speech Presenter

This gives you the ability to hear spell timers. Volte currently calls out a spell when it is hit and when it is coming. Adjust the ACT Apell Timer Interpreter's configuration to determine when the spell's warning will be called out.

The Enable "Hit" Calls check box will have Volte call out when a spell hits such as "Buffeting Winds Hit".

The Enable "Soon" Calls check box will have Volte call out when a spell is about to hit such as "Buffeting Winds Warning".

Speech Presenter

ACT Clipboard Interpreter

This interpreter receives ACT clipboard messages (e.g. parses) from broadcasters and determines what to do with them. Here you tell Volte how long they will display in-game or in a popup window. (See In-Game Presenter and Desktop Presenter for display settings.)

ACT Clipboard Interpreter

ACT Spell Timer Interpreter

This interpreter receives ACT spell timer messages from broadcaster and determines what to do with them. Here you tell Volte how long to show them when they "Hit", how long to show them when they are "Incoming", and how long to show them beyond the time they are supposed to hit. These messages are displayed in the spell timer windows both in-game and in the popups (see In-Game Presenter and Desktop Presenter for display settings) as well as called out via speech (see Speech Presenter for callout settings.)

ACT Spell Timer Interpreter

ACT Event Interpreter

This interpreter receives Volte's ACT plugin events from broadcaster and determines what to do with them. No configuration is necessary for this interpreter at this time. (see In-Game Presenter and Desktop Presenter for display settings)
